In December of 2005, Asia Jackson of Philadelphia, called authorities to report her, then fifteen-month-old daughter, missing. Little Ansia Jackson, who's picture was featured on several different morning shows last month, as well as Without a Trace, was not taken by a stranger, but abducted by someone very close to her, her own father.

Philip Jerome Jackson, who is twenty-six years old, was found in a home located in suburban Birmingham, Alabama, along with his daughter Anisa. Pennsylvania authorities have charge Philip Jackson with kidnapping a minor, as well as charging him with interference with child custody. FBI charges had already been brought up against Jackson for kidnapping, as well as unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, before Ansia had even been found.

While authorities were dealing with Jackson, Anisa was placed into the care of Alabama Department of Human Resources, until her mother, who was already on her way, could be reunited with the daughter that she has been aching to hold for so many months.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, National Center For Missing And Exploited Children, an estimated 797,500 children are reported missing every year. Only about 12,100 of these reported cases are classified as what is referred to as “non-family" abduction. That means that an estimated 785,400 children are abducted by one of their parents each and every year.

Luckily for little Anisa Jackson, the authorities were able to locate her, and bring her back to her mother, who has been granted full legal custody of her daughter. Authorities credit their ability to find Anisa, to the tips called into the shows that had featured Anisa as a missing child.
