So far these are the two things that December has brought to our family. The kids throughly enjoyed the snow, all of the sickness however, they have not. The little guy was the first one to come down with Bronchitis, and he was carted off to the doctor's office for a check up and some medication. Just after recovering from that, however, he brought home
strep throat, and
pink eye, curiosity of the public school system. Somehow those two infections managed to join forces and cause an ear infection as well, so the little man has been less than a happy camper, especially since his high fever landed us in the emergency room, as well as another trip to the doctor's office for new medications to treat the pink eye, strep throat, and ear infection.
Right in the midst of dealing with the youngest feeling under the weather, the inevitable happened, and my oldest called home from school to say that his throat was feeling sore as well, so I hauled the already home sick child, across town, to pick up the ready to come home sick child, making yet another Doctor's appointment.
After running his test a few times, they came up with a very weak positive for strep throat, so he too was put on medication and sentenced to rest for a day while it zapped the bugs out of his system. They are both starting to feel much better now thankfully, and just in time for the next snow storm that is due to hit us this weekend, and projected to dump quite a bit of the fluffy stuff on us, as well as a few inches of ice.
While we are all looking forward to the
snow, I am hopeful that the entire cycle does not start over again with this snow storm, and that we get a chance to enjoy playing outside in the cold, and don't bring any germs back in with us!
