A Maryland blended family whom has been looking forward to completing a stepparent adoption to legally make nine year old Cheyanne, the daughter of Timothy Webber. Yet while the family was anxiously awaiting to become the legal equivalent of what they felt in their hearts, disaster was looming, and it was thanks to little Cheyanne, that her soon to be adoptive stepfather is still alive today.
After spending an evening together in a remote area of town, the two were getting ready to leave the Hunt Club, when Timothy began to have chest pains. He continued on his way home when he realized that he was having a heart attack, and could no longer drive the car. Quick thinking Cheyanne, jumped into her father's lap, and
drove the car nearly ten miles, before they were in
cell phone range, and could receive a signal.
Once in range, she called her mom, whom immediately drove to her family, finding her daughter, and unconscious husband. She rushed him to the hospital, where it was discovered that his major artery was ninety percent blocked. Timothy Webber is lucky to be alive, and while he credits his nine year old daughter for still being alive today, she in turn gives him all of the credit.
Timothy had taught her how to drive a tractor, and even let her drive a real car once, on private property. Without having had the prior experience of driving vehicles, Cheyanne would not have known how to handle the Ford pickup truck that her father had been driving the night of his heart attack.
In a few weeks the Webber's will
celebrate, as they will be declared a legal family, but it is clear that this group of people, whom love, care for, and protect one another, are already a true family.
