The spotlight has always been on celebrities, and we over the years as a society have come to think that not only do these people wish for their professional lives to be viewed by the masses, but their personal lives as well. We feed off of tabloids and gossip and watch their every move both professional and private, or at least what should be private.
As the world watches the dispute over child custody between Britney Spears, and her ex-husband
Kevin Federline, or as he is sometimes known, K-Fed, we forget that not only are the two of them on display at their worst moments, but their children as well. The bitter dispute between these parents is documented daily by reporters and photographers, both in print and on television becoming a part of our history, becoming a part of the society and culture that these boys will grow up in. Gee, doesn't that sound like fun, the entire world not only knows that your parents are divorced, but they know who has custody, who pays child support and how much they pay, why the parents got divorced, and most importantly why one parent does not have custody. Talk about having your
dirty laundry aired before you ever even had a chance to learn how to wash it.
And now amidst the brother's Federline childhood nightmare that they will be able to replay any time they like throughout their entire lives, thanks to the media and our need to know everything about the famous, another child has been thrust into the spotlight after her parent's divorced.
Four-year-old Bea, daughter of Paul McCartney, a former Beatle, and his estranged wife Heather Mills, has now been thrust into the spotlight as her parents begin to fight over custody of her.
McCartney has stated that he wishes to file for f
ull custody of his daughter and has consulted with several lawyers, after the mother of the child apparently had an outburst on television, or rather a small series of outbursts on the radio as well as the television in both the United Kingdom and the United States, about the treatment that she was receiving from British tabloids. See, there are those nasty tabloids again, apparently causing custody disputes this time around, instead of just covering them.
Paul basically feels that his soon to be ex-wife has lost it; a color shy of a rainbow, a sandwich short of a picnic, a loose screw needs to be tightened and he feels that in order to protect his daughter he should have full custody while the mother goes for some professional help. He claims that he pleaded with his soon to be ex to consider their daughter before she went on these programs and apparently verbally exploded, and was apparently ignored. Bea is now in the limelight and the entire world with know her fate and the reasons behind it, before she is even old enough to comprehend it.
